Did you know that babies are born with reflexes that, when placed on their tummies in the water, help them to hold their breath underwater and move forward using a combination of their torso, arm and leg movements? Infants dislike to be on their backs in the water, but they are able to float very well due to their high percentage of body fat. Therefore, through conditioning and guidance, SRAS’s infant program converts these reflexes (involuntary actions) into voluntary actions, thereby equipping them with survival skills and paving the way to further learn-to-swim programs.

Parents participate in SRAS’s infant water familiarization classes. They will be guided by our professional teachers on how to condition their child for various drills such as swim-float-swim technique, tiger crawl and back float. As the child becomes more confident, they will be able to attend classes independently, allowing parents to observe from the poolside.
